Before you begin, you must have:

  • A basic ePortfolio Presentation created or made available to you. If you need to create an ePortfolio Presentations see: http://uwmltc.org/?p=8183
  • Images uploaded to your ePortfolio as Artifacts. If you need to upload images, see: http://uwmltc.org/?p=8194
  • Descriptive text composed in a document that can be copied and pasted into your ePortfolio.

If you have not already done so, log in to D2L (http://d2l.uwm.edu) using your ePanther ID and password. Go to your D2L course site by clicking on the name of your course.

  1. Once you are in our course, click on [ePortfolio] in the upper navigation bar.

  1. Identify your [Presentation] from the list of items. A presentation will be marked by an icon that looks like a easle with a green graph.
  2. Pull down the menu to the right of your presenation.
  3. Select [Edit].

  1. Click on the [Content/Layout] tab.
  2. Select the [Page] onto which you’d like to place images and text.
  3. Under [Content Area 1] click the [Add Component] button.

In order to add an image to your page:

  1. Click [Artifact] from the list of choices.

Browse for the image from the items already uploaded or created in your ePortfolio.

  1. Check the box in front of the image you’d like to add.
  2. Click the [Add] button.

In order to add an text to your page:

  1. Click the [Add Component] button.

  1. Click [Text area] from the list of choices.

  1. Provide an [Area Name]. This will be the header for the text.
  2. Copy and paste the text you’d like to add to your page. You may format the text using the [HTML Editor] features.
  3. When you are satisfied with the text, click [Save and Close].

IMPORTANT:
Repeat Steps #3 – Steps #8 adding all the images and text your presentation pages.

OPTIONAL: Moving Content Area Components

If you wish to reorder Content Area Components:

  1. Pull down the menu to the right of the component.
  2. Select [Move Down] to move the component down the page, or select [Move Up] to move the component up the page.

OPTIONAL: Editing Content Area Components – Step #1

If you wish to edit the text in a Content Area Component:

  1. Pull down the menu to the right of the component.
  2. Select [Edit].

  1. Make the desired alterations to the text and/or format the text using the [HTML Editor] features.
  2. When you are satisfied with the edits, click the [Save and Close] button.
